the day i turned 20

so, i turned 20. had a great day yesterday if i may say so. woke up at 8:20 or so, dressed up hurridly and turned up for breakfast with the host family at 8:30 :) the rather generous spread of bread, cheese, ham, and a boiled egg for everyone, with champagne at the beginning & coffee after that lasted for 2 whole hrs.. of cos also sustained by quick-flowing conversation.. i didnt say all that much again, but it was amusing all the same. then went to meet peiwen, ouch (her friend in bonn) & jodie (fr the same sch) to take a look at the birkenstock outlet in cologne.. it was in a villagey place, was qt fun travelling there & searching for it i guess :P didnt get anything, but pleasant journey all the same. then we decided tt its time to go for lunch! and at düsseldorf to be more specific. düsseldorf is where most japanese in germany gather, and there's sposed to be a gd la mian dian there.. :) took a train tt got us there in 2h instead of the usual 30min, but a nice trip once again.. and yep, then la mian at a nice jap shop tt was qt qt tasty.. :D and since the sky was beautifully bright still at 7+pm we walked ard düsseldorf abit, down the königsallee which is sposed to be the most highclass elegant (& pricey) shopping street in germany.. :) was quite surprised actually, that i got such a different feeling fr düsseldorf as fr köln.. the former was slower, more modern, classier, and more asian! while köln is older yet has lots of young pple, boisterous, always bustling with life. and only 30mins apart! hmm! and then went to peiwen's hse to stayover.. played some mahjong with cards, then slept :) this morning had yummy prata-like stuff with egg, ham & cheese for breakfast, and cut a cheesecake peiwen got :) then more mahjong! hahaha. miss the days of smashing the mahjong tiles around, of "waterfall" (any of the mahjong kakis still rmb wad tt means?) and staying overs at xiang ge's.

so, had a fantastic day! thanks peiwen (if ure reading pls tag so i know!) for a lovely day, as they say, company is more important than the activity & my gd day was due largely to ur gd company :) to everyone else who sent sth, msged, left a tag, blogged, or left an email, thanks too :) thot it cudnt get better than last yr's, but it did.

dont feel any older, but hmmm.. perhaps u all can judge when u meet me either in may or july.. :) meanwhile, i'll be off to work again tmr morning, and busying myself with the fresh books i've received & enjoying the yummy cookies, fudge, and the few pineapple tarts remaining from my parents.. :) take care everyone! huggs.
