have waited until now to blog cos I haven't had the inspiration. hope everyone's enjoyed the pics tho, and I think the pics don't quite do justice to how much I enjoyed the visit back to Köln & Aachen. maybe it's difficult to understand especially if one hasn't had to leave a place before or loved a place so much before. or perhaps feel lonely in a new place before, though I hope (okay I'm sure) that will change once school starts. -nods

anyway yes, the visit was quite fantastic. met up with miriam (the australian classmate) for lunch + icecream + coffee :P then wandered ard the Innenstadt, then going to Aachen for dinner at KFC :P fyi KFC is not exactly in Aachen but it sure is fun to drive out 15min just for KFC sort of as a treat, what probably most Singaporeans can't understand. yun zool lesterbok & i ended up at poonli's place eventually playing gin rummy & bridge, and drinking rose wine til 5am :) felt like a chalet, a typically singaporean chalet. and it's quite cute to think that singaporeans of all ages can do that. like, people don't grow out of enjoying sth like that. :) anyway slept in, then went go-karting the next day at Michael Schuhmacher's hometown Kerpen. a rather unnerving experience esp for a non-driver like me who gets scared when approaching bends & all that. this short 9min drive also caused much pain & aches for the next few days, but all in all it was qt fun la :) had dinner with most of the Aacheners, pleasant as usual.. thurs was then beach day! :) lunched at Maastricht (the first city in Holland to be liberated by the Americans in 1944, and we happened to be there that very day :P) and then went on to a beach at Koudekerke. expected something pretty touristy but ended up seeing a few measly pple & there dogs. lovely quiet place though, good for 4 pple who want to bbq & stay the night under the stars without tents :P drove back the next day & lunched with my teacher frau grabbe & miriam, then had a very enjoyable tea with my gastfamilie (host family). who later sent me to the train station with my luggage.

these few days really reminded me of what i was missing in Würzburg. i really like it and all but it's the human connection i'm missing. people who already know what kinda person I am and accept me for that; people who tell me i can turn to them anytime if i need help, and who in fact do what they can to help.

have actually got over this already but just felt like writing down my appreciation to the Aacheners for always welcoming me & to the other Kölner who won't read this. :) now must look ahead, and figure out what to do for the next few weeks. starting to read something related to bio would be a gd plan i suppose. :) visiting the chinese supermarket wud too, since i now have a ricecooker but no rice! must also get my wardrobe, get a desk, and chair.. and plan the trip to München for Oktoberfest! :) hmmm. funfunfun :)

off to make dinner now :) lazy sunday coming to an end soon.. hmm :)
