umsonst & drauβen

over the weekend there was a little festival in my town, held just at my doorstep on the fields along the Main river.. once again, it reminded me of why i'm staying here despite being so far away from uni.. :) the river banks were transformed into a little carnival site, with bungee jumping stuff for kids, 4 tents/stages for competitions (breakdancing, skits, kids stuff, and rock music), the bouncy float thing for kids, many many stalls selling food, accessories, CDs etc.. and space for picnics!! :) was really pleasant to stroll around, eat crepes and look at all the people and things, performances etc.. and all for free! :) that's what the festival is called anyway.. translated = free and out in the open :)

oh yes there was this particular tent that got my attention.. they had washing boards and basins from some time ago, really interesting, with a pot of boiling water heated up with wood.. and areas to hang up the washed clothes to dry.. and kids could go and try :) thot it was wonderful that they managed to put in some educational value in the event as well :)

and here, a shisha/hookah-smoking stall :P

all in all, very enjoyable event :)
