hmm am pretty excited now but nobody seems to be online. not surprising, since it's 3:41am now over in singapore. so decided to blog :) talking to myself. hehh.

been here for 1mth plus already! was walking towards the Altstadt (old city) today with my classmates when i realised how long i've been here already, how much i like the place, and how familiar (relatively) i am with the city. quite amazing how everything comes about. sometimes i also think, so what am i gonna do with this experience - learning german, living alone, travelling, meeting all sorts of pple? probably will find out in the future, but my life now is so relaxed and comfortable, it's quite unbelievable.

have started a new habit of reading the thinnest daily newspaper. thinnest so that i actually finish reading it. reading the newspaper is actually not that difficult (not as difficult as listening to the news) bcos u can re-read the sentences again, and words on paper cant go fast/slow. plus, usually with a few key words one can understand whats going on. herein lies a very impt qn - im trying to figure out still - shd i attempt to learn as many words as possible (req lots of time and has to end to it) or shd i jus aim to understand e ideas? e understand every word i'd be spending say, 3h on the newspaper alone. worth the effort? hmm.

also booked a ticket to nurnberg on 3rd dec. gonna meet up with karine, a canadian whom i got to know 2 yrs ago on e study trip to germany. shes here on an exchange prog, one sem only. we're gonna visit the famous nurnberg christmas market together. shd be fun :)

ladidums, shall post some pics fr todays very exciting activities. 11.11.05 happens to be st. martin's day and also the opening of the Carnival season. in the morning at 11:11am, thousands of ppl gathered at the Altstadt to declare it open, with bands performing, pple dressed in costumes, drinking beer (kolsch), singing and dancing. was not funkily dressed but here're some who were :)

and here's me having some beer :P
