st martin's day - kids with lanterns (not unlike MAF but with lightbulbs not candles) in a procession down the street, led by a guy dressed as st martin's on a horse (!!!) and eventually ending up at a bonfire, where they sang songs!

also, kids in grps of 3 or 4 knocking on doors, singing songs and asking for candy. pple like me at home who get amused easily putting loads into their lanterns or bags. :)

awwww. and kids who are accompanied by their parents. realised that this is a pretty family place. parents always accompany their kids fer such celebrations, and then also get to know the teachers and other parents well, and spend more time with their kids.

i'm growing to love the city more and more :)
