view from top of st paul's cathedral - can see how modern london is yah, with all these tall buildings in between the historically meaningful ones. the london eye (the ferris wheel) along the river thames can also be seen.

big ben (the clock) and the houses of parliament. couldnt go in unless there's a sitting of parliament but we didnt happen to meet that.

st paul's cathedral - has a huge dome in the middle too which cant really be seen unfortunately here. we climbed up all 530 steps of it to get a view of london, pretty nice i must say..

front of the westminster abbey - one of the nice big churches in london, the other being the st paul's cathedral, which we went into, which was really pretty. pity they didnt allow photography inside :(

side of the westminster abbey

the tower bridge, which is much prettier than the london bridge (supposedly, i dont know cos i didnt go there cos its apparently not worth going :))

buckingham palace - didnt see the change of guards, nor those in nice red uniforms with tall furry hats, sadly. wrong season, apparently.

hwachoo - thinking of you :) the cheesy theme. the email that was trying to persuade us to go said that when we sneeze, someones thinking of us. hmmm. :) haha but nice yeah :)

chinatown at leicester square with lots of pple. lots of restaurants, supermarkets and PEOPLE. omg yes, london has so many pple i almost fainted.

yibun yijin & me :) yay, hwachong night was SO GOOD - like in yijin's blog, good company (good food) and good programme. very nice to be sitting with our batch pple, sing familiar songs, see familiar sights (in videos) & dance familiar mass dances :P note jin's & bun's funky hairstyles :D

serpentine lake in hyde park - this huge park in central london, really nice for strolling jogging and the like. :) note the crappy weather.. (can tell?)

picadilly circus - maybe some pple recognise this place? sposed to be qt famous.. hmm didnt really enjoy myself so much as expected, but hwachong night itself was fantabulous. maybe london is just not so to my liking.. :(

update + naples!

hello hello hello :)

haha suddenly feel like typing stuff today :) jus finished cleaning my room with my landlady, nice (tho short) conversation with her again :) am in a good mood obviously. mainly cos lessons are getting better :) the cmi tchr who only knew how to use the textbook and do boring exercises has, after our feedback, learnt how to use the newspaper! yay! and to allow us to discuss issues and talk abt our cultures and all that! :) haha i thot it wud nvr happen but i actually enjoyed some of the lessons these past 3 days :D

yesterday we were talking abt CNY in china.. german papers had a real long article abt it, the huge gala show especially that every single chinese in china tunes in to. we discussed some sensitive stuff like govt influence and all that but focused on how to express criticism on e author's POV.. that kinda thing. then fri sposed to do a mini-presentation! dunno if i shd do like thaipusam, thimithi or something easier (like NDP, which i dont haf to go search strange words for :P) ladidums!

okay let me tell u all abt abit Naples. for those who've heard this, paiseh, you can skip this para haha. kk so Naples is this city in southern Italy situated at the coast, with like 1million pple. e streets are narrow, but there're lots of cars and pple. lots of old buildings, but unfortunately not well-maintained so everything looks grey :( its kinda like JB? like there're lots of road-side stalls selling imitation stuff, lots of shops with big signs saying SALES and all that. k but the saving grace of this city is (apparently) the thriving night life, and the whole exciting hip happening atmosphere. depends on how u see it lah huh :) yeah and that it's near some v popular tourist destination, like Pompei, the Capri island, the Amalfi coast. yeeps. Pompei was nice, its a rather scary feeling walking thru all those buildings and roads, its like walking in a city that was frozen in time since 2000 yrs ago. like nth has changed all these yrs. met this very nice old security guard who showed me ard, explained to me stuff & even opened up a locked house to show me ard :) its amazing, they had swimming pools, dining rooms etc and u can even see like the water tpt system.. hhaha :) yupp. and the drawings on the walls, the statues, the temples..

yup and this weekend i may be going to Oldenburg to visit my jap friend called Ai. met her in germany in 2003 and shes here for a sem :) qt nice yea, to still be able to meet after all these yrs.. :) sposed to haf CNY dinner at aachen but think the plans are falling thru, think the seniors are too busy :(

k its 6pm liaos mus go and cook bleah. broccoli, beans, rice, egg as usual :) hahaha. everyone take care! -waves-
