the german parliament building - the reichstag.. pple who took o level history might remember this building being burnt down in 1933, with the blame put on communists as an excuse for hitler to purge the communist party members..

new yrs eve party at thila & thila's place - our generous hosts, who's working at the singapore embassy & his wife resp :) had other guests too, germans, colombians, nigerians.. :)

playing with fireworks and fire crackers! :) loud and scary fun :P

then we joined the countdown party (after the countdown :P) at the brandenburger tor (gate) for awhile, where huge throngs of pple were dancing to live music.. :)

yep and my trip to berlin was fantastic! berlin proves to be interesting, and ever-changing. first thing we noticed was of course the train station - opened in may around the time we (europetrip) people were there! here's a pic to remind u guys of how it looks:

and so that concludes my christmas/new yr break, very well spent in good company, with interesting activities & at charming places :)

hello, land of sun & sea

yes, i'll be back :) landing on the 17th of feb and leaving on 9 april.. wil be working at the ministry of home affairs for abt 6 weeks.. meanwhile i will continue to study & pass my exams, will get in touch with everyone when i get home k :)

i don't think anyone who hasn't read the book understands it but.. it was a gd read. highly recommended!

realised i didn't post anything about munich the last time so here goes.. this is the olympiazentrum, where the 1972 olympic games took place. that's the swimming hall and the little lake which held the screen & stage last yr (yes guys, it's 2007 already..) during the world cup. :)

and this is me and fuzzy at the top of a little hill overlooking the olympiapark as well as much of munich. could make out the two towers of the frauenkirche (where the Pope was archbishop till his papacy) and other buildings in the city :)
