pseudo-laksa :P
this is absolutely random - i jus had dinner with my flatmate kevin (first from right), his gf (beside me) and his two other friends. it was chicken curry (well, not spicy at all and no coconut milk so not reaaally curry :P) with spaghetti. table nicely set too, with red wine and candles and all that. pretty german, i'd say, all this preparation and stuff for dinner..
right.. so i turned 21 one week ago :) many many huge thanks to the people who messaged me, called me (or tried to call me umpteen times :)), celebrated in advance, and accompanied me.. thoughts and feelings on turning 21? hardly anything, to tell the truth. but now i can vote (choachukang happens to be always contested :)) and mmm.. yeah so actually it wasn't such a significant moment in my life :P enjoyed myself though in heidelberg with my fav jnr shubei :P always happy to be in her company :D we go abit crazy together heh

and that's, in order, shubei & i on the old bridge, shubei and helen her british friend in a mexican restaurant, me at königsstuhl which is 500+m above sea level, overlooking heidelberg, and the ruins / castle nestled in the hills surrounding heidelberg :)
..brings with it lovely colours and good moods all around. been amazed by the beautiful flowers that are strategically planted in all corners of the town, a project probably undertaken by the city council to remind all that it's spring, and the trees so covered with flowers u cant see the green leaves.. this patch's at my tram stop.. :)
and today i took part in a wine-hike.. we hiked for 1+ hrs and ended up at a nearby village, where we enjoyed some wine.. walked past vineyards of cos and beautiful scenery.. this is a field of yellow flowers whose name i don't know.. but all the same, lovely lovely.. :)
this is the vineyard! can't really tell i guess cos the grape plants are still growing, not many leaves yet, but the wooden sticks act as support for the plants.. and behind, more vineyards and houses in the town :)
and finally, a decent shot of the view from my uni library :) that's the fortress to the left on a hill, and the town to its right.. :)

and this is the village where we had our wine.. :) it's at the Main river which u can (roughly) see flowing across the picture.. :) all in all a pleasant trip! :)
was walking home fr the tram stop today when i was thinking abt the crappy lecture i just had.. thinking even about complaining abt it to everybody i saw online.. and then i realised that this is really unlike me, to be so negative abt everything.. so i thot i would post some resolutions online so tt i'll see it often (since i like to check my blog for tags :P)
on the way home can see many trees with flowers! :) this is one of them..
and this is part of the Mainufer, or Main bank (as in river bank).. nice grass patches to play frisbee or grill (bbq!) and vineyards behind! on the little hills
the road on the river bank.. :)
more vineyards with little hotels on top :) surely with a fantastic view :D
yep, title of this post says: i'm feeling better.. :) school's started today, and i thought i'd bring along my new cam (yay!) to sch to take some pics to show u all and my parents.. esp in this glorious weather (10-15 in the night and 25-28 in the day!) and lovely env with blooming flowers and all.. soooo.. the muchly awaited (not anymore i think) picture of my uni! my uni is divided into the city part, the clinics (hospital) part, the med fac part and the hill part. i'm on the hill :P this is the bio faculty, there're 3 wings with a central lecture hall area. :)
and these are the two i usually sit with in the lectures, on the left is mu and on the right, konrad. they are germans (mu has turkish parents) and are pretty nice pple :) hardworking too :P
this is my good friend cristina!! from peru!! she's v nice and sweet and cute :P and good at cheering pple up. :) we comfort each other when we feel homesick.. :)
this is what i left behind - the view from my place.. with teck whye sec in the foreground and flats from bt panjang and forest area around expressways there at the back..
and this is what i will be seeing.. for the next 4 mths at least.. the grass fields that line the river Main, now covered with stalls of a flea market.. and the vineyards behind across the river.. 4 mths, cos i may be able to go back in august.. but that's all unconfirmed.. i will also have to think abt other factors (exams, money..)
and below, some houses near mine..

barrage of fotos :) me and my colleagues at my favourate lunch venue Pek Kio :) for the uninitiated, it's somewhere between Tekka and Novena. there's good food there at superb prices.. try the fried hokkien mee, prawn mee soup (get the $2 ones!), teochew porridge, and have soya bean/chinchow and then goreng pisang/ youtiao for dessert. yummmmmm.
