i am alive...

:) just to say i'm alive and kicking, surviving this week in which i've done almost nothing fruitful, somehow, which leaves me slightly dissatisfied with myself, slightly frustrated, and rather determined to make the next week better :) falling behind wouldnt be good, no, and i want to do my best for the exams - it's the first one, i'm not sure how i'll do, so at least this time round i have to go all out. -nods

days have been passing by rather quickly, attending lectures, practicals, spanish lessons (the highlight of the week :)) coming back to be greeted (usually) by tanja my flatmate, and (sometimes) kevin the other flatmate. having dinner alone or with them, being very german - eating potatos, boiled with butter & salt, or mashed, or fried with cheese & onions, then watching tv with tanja usually, chatting abt our days, commenting abt tv, and learning new german words :) chatting then with other pple online - fid, and the bunch of germany friends. so all in all rather gd, rather peaceful life :)

weather's getting cold (how german to be discussing the weather, hurhur) but suits me quite well still. nice feeling all wrapped up and warm, or even feeling the chill but knowing that home will be around the corner, nicely heated up.

and i will be away for the weekend in aachen. singaporean food beckons (lester!!), good company, dvds (?) and relaxation. :) plus, i must not forget to get my poster of köln. then my room will be the way i want it :)

medppl: congrats on the going-to-be-concluded CAs! :) have a gd rest yea, and gear up again for the next challenge! :) :)

the erfurter dom, a lovely gothic structure :) on this square kids gathered on the 10th of november to celebrate the birthday of martin luther who was born in erfurt, which we marginally missed.. made up for it by drinking glühwein - some kinda wine which is warmed which is great in winter :) Posted by Picasa

here's the reflection of some pretty half-timbered houses in the glass :) Posted by Picasa

all 30 of us on a bridge in erfurt, which has 23 houses built on it :) rather pretty, especially those half-timbered houses, more of which will come later :) 3 german students went with us, and one conducted the tour in erfurt on sunday on a raining morning :) Posted by Picasa

weimar's most famous sons - goethe and schiller. :) their houses have been (predictably) turned into museums - i went into goethe's and it was really nice i must say, thanks to the tourguide. he was pretty rich, got a house with a front and back part, and horses to pull his carriage which was stored in the in-between space. Posted by Picasa

the area next to the door - in the corner two bookshelves fit quite nicely, check out the files (which are all empty) and the books! :) hehhs and check out the messy desk! all the breakfast cookies are there, and random junk. time to clear up! :) Posted by Picasa

the other part of my bed, next to the window and the heater (the white thing beneath).. and next to the bed is a nice and useful lamp which can light up the room as well as the corner of the bed where i sit to read.. my desk next - it's huge, just the size i need. :) fid - your pics are there! :) on the wall! :) Posted by Picasa

a corner of my newly furnished room! here's the printer, part of my bed, and yit's farewell card from last yr! :) Posted by Picasa
